I have a mix of machines running on an SBS domain. (XP, Mac, and Vista
business) Two are Vista business machines that run great as stand alone systems. However, when these systems are added to the domain they take forever to logon and access domain resources . These two systems were preloaded HP machines, I thought possibly that the added HP stuff could be part of the problem. So I rebuilt one of the systems to no avail. STILL SLOW. All of the other systems including the Mac work great. I have loaded the Microsoft suggested hot fixes for the server and Vista machines. No change. I have disabled the auto tuning for TCP , and cant surf the internet after. Both Vista systems are using static IP's, the DNS is pointing to the domain server, and are hard wired to a managed switch. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Kevin |

I get the Domain server name (.local) and IP address of the server with no
errors. As a note. I have my own company network running SBS and all the pc's are on Vista Business with no login or access issues. Update:
I have resolved the slow acess issues. 1. I disabled auto tuning 2. Disabled IPv6 3. Disabled Remote Differential Compression Login's was reduced from 10+ minutes, down to 30 seconds to desktop. Information from other posts in this forum has been a great help to me. Thanks to all that have been fighting the Vista battle. I hope this helps others that may be having similar issues.
