Hi, Amber.
This happened to me last month. It took a LOT of digging, but I finally solved it by UNinstalling InCD from Nero. I dual-boot several Windows installations - both x86 and x64 versions of WinXP Pro and several Vista beta builds. Only WinXP x86 (Microsoft-speak for 32-bit, now that x64 has arrived) had the problem; I could still boot into other OSes. I had just bought a new LG DVD burner and was adding it to my system, which already included a year-old Pioneer DVD burner. When I first installed the hardware, everything still worked. But after I installed the software from the CD that LG provided with the drive, I got the symptoms you describe, but only when I had both burners plugged in and only in WinXP. MANY reboots later with various combinations of drives, cables, etc., I removed (from Add/Remove Programs) InCD - and I've had no such problems in the past month. I have to run now, but please post back if this works for you - or if you find a better solution. RC -- R. C.
