I use Favorites extensively under XP to quickly locate files/folders that are
arranged by subject matter in subfolders and displayed as a tree. I cannot find the equivalent function in Vista. I would like Microsoft to consider adding Favorites back to the Menu Bar. -- jpm ---------------- This post is a suggestion for Microsoft, and Microsoft responds to the suggestions with the most votes. Hmm...it's there. If you open My Computer, on the left hand navigation is
the favorite links. If you right-click in that area, you can open favorite links folder, and make new favorites, and group favorites, etc. It's different looking, so it was not so obvious to me that it existed at first either. Good luck. pgd "jpm" wrote in message ... I use Favorites extensively under XP to quickly locate files/folders that are arranged by subject matter in subfolders and displayed as a tree. Open WE (Windows Explorer) Select your user name from the Folders Pane, Now just right click and drag the Favorites folder to the Favorties Link pane, let go of the mouse button and select create shortcut here. Now you have full control of how you want to browse and mange all your favorites in just 2 simple clicks without the hassle of any Pull down Menus. Hope this helps Dave |

Thanks, Dave.
It partially helps, but still isn't the same as IE's favorites. Ronie. "Dave" wrote: "Ronie" wrote in message ... Thanks, Dustin. Right click an empty space on the Desktop and select New/Shortcut. In the Location line type: C:\Users\yourname\Favorites (Where 'yourname' is the name of your user account) Click Next. The name of the shortcut should show as 'Favorites'. Double click this shortcut and it should open Windows Explorer with your Favorites folder tree showing. -- Ronnie Vernon Microsoft MVP Windows Desktop Experience "Ronie" wrote in message news ![]() Thanks, Dave.
