Hi,
I have just started have a problem connecting to a VPN that uses a Connection Manager profile. This has been working fine for the past 2 months or so, as revently as 26th June. When i came to connect today nothing happens when I double click the icon for the VPN either on my desktop or in Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections. I also can't access the properties from there which I have been able to access previously. I have re-installed the connection from the original exe, and even tried a system restore to the 24th June. Below is the log created in c:\windows\tracing\CMDIAL32.log for one of the connection attempts. [1424] 21:51:36: RasCustomDialDlg() -- Entered [1424] 21:51:36: RasCustomDialDlg() - dwFlags = 0x0 [1424] 21:51:36: RasCustomDialDlg() - (RASDIALDLG)lpInfo-dwFlags = 0x0 [1424] 21:51:36: IsCmReconnectRequest - RASDIALDLG.dwFlags is 0x0 [1424] 21:51:36: WhoIsCaller() - Calling process is C:\Windows \Explorer.EXE [1424] 21:51:36: CmCustomDialDlg - Begin [1424] 21:51:36: CConnectionTable::CConnectionTable() [1424] 21:51:36: CmCustomDialDlg() - dwFlags = 0x0 [1424] 21:51:36: CmCustomDialDlg() - lpszPhonebook = C:\Users\Richard \AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Network\Connections\Pbk \rasphone.pbk [1424] 21:51:36: CmCustomDialDlg() - lpszEntry = Warwick IC Systems VPN Connection [1424] 21:51:36: LinkToDll - Loading library - RASAPI32.DLL [1424] 21:51:36: AllocateRasEntry() - s_dwRasEntrySize is 5656 [1424] 21:51:37: MyRGEP() - dwRasEntry = 5656 : sizeof(*preRasEntry) = 4048 [1424] 21:51:37: CNamedMutex::Lock() - Attempting to acquire mutex - Connection Manager Connect - [1424] 21:51:37: CmCustomDialDlg - Connect mutex acquired. I have now used System Restore to set the machine back to a time way before the problem occured and it now seems to be working. I will bear the email address in mind should the issue occur again in future. Thanks again. Richard Ward Warwick International Computing Systems |
