I have two machines running XP pro. I have one machine running Vista. The
machine running vista is wireless and has attached to it a storage drive. I set up a file in the storage drive to dump large files. The drive and file in the storage drive can be seen on all computers, but I cannot transfer any information to the drive - says to see the administrator - which I am . All permissions in vista are turned on for all to use etc. If you check the storage drive it has the share logo in the corner of the icon and the file has the share logo. The other two XP machines and my kids laptops (2) can share and exchange files - they all work except the computer running vista. The problem is probably right in front of me - but I cannot see it. Any suggestions? Thank you. -- cao911 |

Still no luck.
DHCP broadcasting has been disabled. all files are on to share. I have activated the guest file to share. Set up an administrator account. I can see all the share files form other xp computers - just will not give me access. Get message "Not accessible. You might not have permission to use the network resource" The vista is password protected and the drive I want to use is a separate storage device. I have the computer opened and logged on etc. - can see storage device as I have it so it will share files. I will keep trying. -- cao911 "Chuck" wrote: On Fri, 29 Jun 2007 04:58:03 -0700, cao911 wrote: I have two machines running XP pro. I have one machine running Vista. What's the complete path to the shared files and folders?
