I honestly can't remember in which newsgroup I trashed Roxio yesterday, but
I'll put the amended info here.

Roxio Easy Media Creator 9 Suite will install, and seems to run fine, with
RC1 Build 5728.
I did so this morning on a system running 64-bit Vista and, although I
haven't gotten around to it yet, a 32-bit system is probably less of a
challenge.

All, er, heck will break loose if you try to install it on Build 5600.
Believe it or not, it seems to be the registration module that wants to run
as soon as you load any of the EMC9 modules. There is a .REG key file you
can cut and paste from one of the Sonic support forums that supposedly fixes
this problem.

It seems to me it's just easier to upgrade to 5728 if that's still available
and THEN install EMC9.

Roxio (Sonic) is pointing the finger at MS. I'm sure MS would point the
finger the other way. Who cares? It works under 5728. Now, don't break it
again please MS (smile).

Yepp - I was one of the first users stating the the registration does not
work under VISTA 5600. They did not want to support us since VISTA is BETA.
BUT at the same time they said (in the relnotes) that EMC will be compatible
to the actual available Vista build...??!!

Since my 5600 Version runs fine (also with most parts of EMC) after applying
the reghack I will stay with it until the final is ready.

cheers

Hmmm. I tried installing 9 while using 5600 and it wouldn't install. Then
I tried again after gett 5728 and it installed and runs like a charm. Well
at least as much like a charm as Roxio can run. No reg hacks required.

Thats for that! I can now load up and run most of teh Roxio suite. I say
most as I am having some quirkiness which i am guessing I will need to wait
for final vista to get these "fetures" worked out.

Have you experienced any issues with the Disc Copier program? I can launch
it and can perform mostofthe tasks, but if I take a DVD backup folder I have
(ripped DVD to my My PC) and when I go to try an create an ISO file to change
the size from 8 to 4 I go to click on the Save As button andthe program
closes.

Has anyone else seen that?
