Help please,
I have Vista desktop with the following specifications: 1. Vista Ultimate 2. On-board network adapter Intel PRO/100 VE 3. Two dial-up connections 4. One external ADSL modem Aztech DSL600EU (I used USB cable and I have to switch off the modem manually after finish) And the other desktop is XP with the following specifications: 1. XP Service Pack 2 2. On-board VIA Rhine II fast network adapter The problems a 1. My primary LAN, "Local Area Connection" to share files between "Intel PRO/100VE" to/from "VIA Rhine II" is labeled as "Unidentified Network". This, I think, makes everytime I restart Vista desktop the setting revert back to "public". How to make this connection recognized as a safe network? 2. If I turn on my DSL modem, it'll detected as "Local Area Connection 2" and will be labeled as "Network". With this connection, I can change the locations from public to private or vice versa no problem, even after restart the setting still memorized. But If I used ICS to share this connection, after I turn off the modem and restart the Vista desktop, my XP desktop will have limited connectivity. I have to turn on the DSL modem then share any of dial-up connections to fix it. How to share internet connection coming from "Local Area Connection 2"? Thanks in advance! |
