Default removing explorer toolbars

Is there a way to remove the toolbars in explorer? The one that says
organize / views / burn / and so on... Also itd b cool to remove all the
toolbars at that. I dont need a back and forward button or file / edit
/view... I am in windows standard view not in aero mode so file edit view
never go away. As with aero mode the windows are just so fat and that drives
me banannas lol

Also once the window is wide enough there doesnt seem to be a way to get rid
of the treeview of folders on the left.

I dont really wanna see all these controls for dee dee dee users ;P Right
click rules dont waste my working screen space with stuff i never ever clik
on!!!

hello, I realize this an old thread, I don't suppose anyone has figured
out how to git rid of this yet though?

I have found that it's not there in safe mode. Now if we could just get
rid of it in normal mode.

Hi Traker

No, the command bar is an integral part of windows explorer.

There are many third party windows explorer replacements out there.

If its so tied in, Why is it not there is safe mode. Is there a
different shell altogether in safe mode, Or is it a program that doesn't
load in safe mode?

Traker

Apples and oranges! None of the GUI features will display in Safe Mode. Safe
mode only loads the basic components for troubleshooting.

The command bar isn't just a static menu, it's dynamic, which means that it
is always changing depending on what the user is doing.

Hello everyone out there. I know that this thread is old (wow I just
realize that I'm doing the same thing as traker did), but I have the
same problem and I was hoping for an answer. please anyone out there
with a registry edit or anything. I don't want to chuck explorer for
something else, just get rid of that useless bar...

Which toolbar are you referring to? The one with Organize, Views, etc? Is
there a reason you want to hide it and that it would cause you to stop using
explorer?

Not only stop using it, but quite frankly this entire OS is nothing but
bloated confusing noise, a complete waste of my time, with no respect
for the years I've spent fine tuning my understanding and usage of
Windows XP/Microsoft Office so that I now have to relearn how to do the
most basic things.

I simply do not have the patience or time to re-learn how to move about
my computer.

The file explorer is a disaster. here is what I'm used to:
[image: http://jleslie48.com/images/fileexplorer_Image1.jpg]

nice and clean, only the stuff I use, and the most about of information
for the amount of real estate I consume for of the window.

The XP version of this is horrible I'd say 30% of the window is useless
junk, I can't move it away, I still can't figure out how to make the
font smaller to get more lines in the window, and (XP is also guilty of
this) it constantly resets my preferences, if the folder has mpgs, it
changes the view, if it has jpgs, it changes the views, if its a CD/DVD
it changes the view, STOP FKING WITH MY VIEW!!!!

Sorry for the rant. Its just incredibly frustrating to have to deal
with this nonsense.

so how do I get vista to start doing things the way I want them too?
stop resetting the view to whatever it wants and starts listening to my
settings? I want total ability to control what is in my window.

Don't even get me started on Office 2007. So many gd-dm buttons and
crap at the top I can only see about 3 lines of my document at a time...

I can't even see the date on the bottom bar without making it 3x the
size...
