If I run Notepad as Administrator, then I can't drag a text file from an
ordinary Explorer window and have it appear. The Notepad window remains blank. If I also run Explorer as Administrator, then it works. I found this out while trying to add an entry to the hosts file. Nick |

While the two programs are running in different contexts you cannot move data from one to another (especially the least trusted to the more trusted). -- Robert Moir www.robertmoir.com |

If that's the case then the Notepad window should not show the icon indicating that it is accepting the dropped file...it should show the diagonally slashed circle indicating not allowed. Nick |
