Default XP cant see vista in Workgroup, and vice versa

I have set up sharing according to many of the posts here. Workgroups are the
same, permissions set for everyone, if I check on my vista desktop I am
sharing a folder.

Workgroups are the same
I am also sharing folders on my 2 XP laptops.

On the laptops I cant see my vista machine in the workgroup
On the vista machine I cant see the laptops in the network map.
I can ping all machines from all machines without a problem.

This is now doing my head in...please help!!

You haven't mentioned if you enabled file sharing or not. To test it, on each computer, do "net share". Post back with the results.
