Default Cannot install network printer in Vista

I have 2 desktop computers running Windows XP Home that are connected to my
network via a hub and cat-5 cables. I can transfer files and print on
either printer from either computer. I have a laptop computer with Windows
Vista ultimate on it, connected wireless to my network using the same hub
which also has a wireless card in it. I can transfer files no problem but
when I try to install a printer I get the following errors: For the HP
printer I get, "Cannot connect to the printer, access denied." For the
lexmark printer, it gets as far as asking for permission to install the
drivers but after I click to start installing drivers, I get the following
error: "Windows cannot connect to the printer (error 0x000003e3)"

If anyone has any useful information on how to solve my problem, I would be
greatly appreciative.

Thank You

Keven

I get the same error connecting form Vista Biz to 9x shared printers. After
the failed attempt, I have been able to install the printer as a Local
Printer, and when asked for the Port I scroll down and find the path to the
printer from the failed network attempt.

Problem is it only lasts until the 9x machine is restarted

Default Cannot install network printer in Vista

thank you Robert. I was able to get it to print to my HP printer using that method. I still cannot get it to print to the Lexmark, Oh well I dont mind because as far as I am concerned the Lexmark is just another piece of garbage cluttering up my house, It should be in the trash can with the other garbage.

Default The_fix

My Vista fought, i finally resolved the issue by creating a shared folder on my XP unit, then placed a shortcut from the printer in the folder. From the Vista unit i found the new shared folder copied the shortcut to the desktop and defaulted to the new printer.
Problem Solved!

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. Another other solution is
double click on the printer shortcut.
