I was in the same position as Dasha, having trouble with installing updates and I followed your advice to a tee and got success, so all I can say is "THANK YOU", "Thank You", "Thank you very much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Coincidently the last download is the one that solved the problem, for anyone having similar problems. Thanks again Engel. updates after reistalling windows XP. Dial a fix run in safe mode fixed it. Why Won't My Computor Download Microsoft Critical Updates (85)

You see, only with the Ccleaner you was able to fix your problem.
