After installing vista on my pc when I try to connect to the internet I get
an error saying "network adapter not detected". I do not have a driver for my ethernet card. For XP i just used the default xp driver which was "intel 21140 based pci fast ethernet adapter (generic)" I found this driver in vista when trying to update my driver. I tried to install it but I got an error message saying unable to install, and recieved error code 10. So I reverted back to XP and I could connect to the network again. Could it be that my ethernet card is not compatable with Vista? Any help is appreciated. Thanks |

Hello atcbrownie,
What NIC did you use? Which vendor, speed and is it a chipset or real card? Best regards Myweb Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. Since a new, compatible NIC can cost under $20 USD, just go buy another one. If your current NIC is onboard, go into the BIOS and disable it and then install the new card. This assumes you have a desktop computer, of course. If you have a laptop, contact the laptop mftr.'s tech support for drivers.
