Default VISTA64 Media Center Compatible SVideo Input Device

I have reached a boiling point in trying to locate a USB2.0 or Firewire input
device that will allow me to connect my cable box to my Vista PC so that I
may use Media Center to watch TV. I already have an IR Blaster attached, so
all I need is a way to get audio and video into the PC. I've tried Hauppage's
WinTV and Pinnacles PCTV Stick, these will not work on Vista64. I really
didn't think that finding an SVIDEO capture device would be this friggin
hard! Can anyone help?

Hauppauge's WinTV PVR USB2 (with xxx24 serial number ONLY) works with Vista x64.

I already own a WinTV PVR USB2, but the serial is an xx69, and I don't feel
like buying another just to try to get the right serial #.

My PC is an HP slimline media center model, and it does have one PCI slot
open. The problem is that the PCI slot is an ultra low profile slot, and will
not hold a standard height PCI card without blocking the cover from being put
back on the case.

Is there a low profile PCI SVideo capture card that Media Center in Vista64
will recognize? The Windows compatability website shows a card from KWorld -
DVD Maker - that looks to be the right size, and the compatability chart
shows that it is Vista64 Certified, but the KWorld website doesn't have any
Vista (32 or 64 bit) drivers published. Any other recommendations?

BP,

I used google to locate this one that claims to be Vista 64 compatible:

http://www.caloptic.com/fusionhdtv5rt.html

I didn't notice whether it also comes with a low profile bracket.

This looks promising - I'm checking into the bracket. Thanks for pointing me
to this.

If anyone reading this has any experience with this card, please let me know
how you like it.

BP,

If no low profile bracket is available for that card, I'd think you could
hack the regular bracket to fit, if you're do inclined. I'd whack it off,
bend over the end, and drill a hole for the screw. Some people aren't
comfortable with doing something like that, I know. But others would have no
problem with it. Why do vendors make low profile cards with no low profile
brackets? Just a thought.
