The first step is usually to turn on sharing and discovery. Did you do that?
If not: 1. Click the Start button, type net and click Network and Sharing Center. 2. Set the Network Discovery option to On. 3. Set all the other stuff to whatever you want on this machine (I have them all On). 4. Close the window. I think that's all I did to get access to all my local network resources. Also, you should see (Private Network) as the network type there. It was very easy. I'm hooked into a wired LAN. And that's hooked into a wireless LAN through a Wireless Access Point. I have access to all those resources. "Brody TKE" Brody wrote in message ... Ok i just got my new dell with vista ultimate on it. Im trying to connect to the existing network i have in my house. Have you tried putting both the netowrk names to the same thing? In XP the
default is Mshome and in Vista is Workstation (or something like that). Try changing Workstation to Mshome, that worked for me. Also if you're networking to a XP machine, you may need this: http://technet2.microsoft.com/Window....mspx?mfr=true "Brody TKE" wrote: Ok i just got my new dell with vista ultimate on it.
