Have you tried going to (IE) Tools - Internet Options - Security and
turning off Protected mode?

Default Internet Explorer 7 Does Not Allow Printing

I had this exact same issue and it drove me nuts for about 2 days. I found I
could print to anything put a locally attached printer. I could print to the
XPS Document writer I have installed and I could print to my PDF creator
without issue. Once I got a PDF I could print that PDF all day without
issue, I just couldn't print from within IE7.

What I found was that my problems began after installing AVG Free 8.x
earlier in the week. I had been able to print the previous weekend, but was
unable to print after the installation. As others have noted I was able to
print with Protected Mode turned off, but not with it turned on. Once I
uninstalled AVG Free 8.x I could print again from IE7 without issue. If you
have AVG Free 8.x installed you might try the suggestion made by Tony Zamboni
and install the patch or just uninstall AVG Free 8.x and reinstall AVG Free
7.x

Good luck.

Hello,

I also have the Vista Printing Issue from IE7. This is a fresh install
and I am able to print from other applications. I have uninstalled the
HP Software and ReInstalled with no change. The print Icon on taskbar
flashes and after the reinstall the print job showes in the print queue.
Nothing ever prints from IE7 and the print job disappears from the
queue.

I Reinstalled Vista for other reasons and checked printing and it
worked fine. Now all of sudden it stopped printing. I just may
ReInstall Vista and monitor when the printing stops. Just wondering if
any others have the same problem or some helpful suggestions before I
reinstall.

Printer HP 8250
Vista Ultimate 32 Bit.

Hello All. I have narrowed down the problem and solution. The system
is my father's and I do not have exact cause
Problem: Vista Ultimate 32 will not print from IE7 with UAC on. All
other applications seem to print fine and IE7 will print with UAC off.
System specs. Dell Inspiron 530 with Intel Quad processors. 4 GB
memory, printer HP 8250.
I reloaded Vista last night and it was able to print fine. I then
started loading applications and patches. All was fine until we loaded
AVG Free and Norton Ghost 12 legal copy.
IE stopped printing with UAC on. I rolled back with Windows system
restore to just after initial Vista load and the system started printing
fine from IE7 and with UAC on. It was late and we did not test what was
the exact culprit but it looks like one of two items, AVG free or Norton
Ghost 7 on the Inspiron. I have have a Dell 820 with Dual Core with
Vista 32 and 2GB memory, AVG Free and Norton Ghost 12 and it is workiing
fine. I will try to test futher and let everyone know more details but
it will be a week or so. Steve
