On XP, cookies were in a folder in C:\Documents and Settings\userid\ and
you could look at them whenever you wanted. Where are they in Vista? Thanks, GM |

Is there anything special that needs to be done with permissions on this?
When logged in as myself I cannot view anything, especially when trying to look at AppData, Cookies, etc. Its very frustrating. This is the first Vista box on our domain and I am the test dummy. I have added my login as an administrator and have no luck still. "mikeyhsd" wrote: C:\Users\user name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Cookies "Gabriela Mendosa" wrote in message ... I've had similar problems. I couldn't open any of Documents, My Pictures,
My..., cookies, etc. When I tried to open the files I was told access was denied. I had to go under C:\User\username\cookies for example. The folder would have an arrow on the icon like XP used to use for links. I right clicked the folder and went to Share. I then told Vista I wanted to change the sharing settings. I usually had to delete "everyone" in the next box. Click Share to close box. I always got an error message. Ignore it. Repeat the process and chose "Stop sharing this folder" under Share. After that I was able to open the folder. Don't ask me why this helped, but I hope it at least puts you on the correct track. -- qfreed "Zed" wrote: Is there anything special that needs to be done with permissions on this? Make sure the folders don't have the link arrow on them. I see a cookie
folder when I open start under my user name. If you click on the folder to open it , it will deny you access. However, if you trace the link to it's actual location listed in the other replies (User, user name, app data, roaming, microsoft, windows, cookies) you should be able to open and explore it. -- qfreed "Gabriela Mendosa" wrote: On XP, cookies were in a folder in C:\Documents and Settings\userid\ and you could look at them whenever you wanted.
