USB mouse prevents booting
HP Pavilion dv6244ea notebook with Vista Premium.
If I keep my USB mouse plugged in, the PC won't boot (blank screen). So I have to unplug the mouse each time I power the PC on, to plug it in again when the boot process is over, and eventually it works fine. Upgrading the bios to the latest version had no effect. Changing USB port had no effect. Changing the mouse had no effect. My other USB device (a pen-drive) doesn't cause any such problem. Any suggestion will be appreciated. Maria. |

USB mouse prevents booting
Vega,
In the following reference, click on number 3: http://www.pcbuyerbeware.co.uk/USBPr....htm#questions The #3 link contains several other links addressing what sounds like the issue you're talking about. Though the reference talks about prior versions of Windows, I think USB problems are not unique to Vista. Take a look to see whether you can find something useful. -- freddy "Vega" wrote: HP Pavilion dv6244ea notebook with Vista Premium. I read the articles and found some clues that confirm my suspect of a bios issue (something related to the legacy USB support or maybe to energy saving settings). Unfortunately HP hides the advanced Bios settings, so I am not able to change the factory defaults. Thanks again and best regards, Maria (Vega) |

Vega,
Since this is a HP computer, take a look at their site established to help its customers to troubleshoot USB issues: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/g...me=c008201 97 If all else fails, try contacting HP support. -- freddy "Vega" wrote: "freddy" ha scritto nel messaggio ...
