Default Stops locating networks, after being used continually or idled

I have a Compaq Presario C552US, I just purchased two days ago. It's running
Windows Vista Basic. Sometimes after using it continually or when idled for
a couple of hours, it wont locate networks anymore. I know I'm within range
of networks when this happens, and my wireless button is always turned on.
It sits and thinks for a while, and then says something along the lines of
"Can't find any networks" It even does this inside my home, where I know with
100% certainity there is a network there. I have to restart the computer and
then all of a sudden it finds networks again. I'm having to restart the
computer all the time, and I'm sure that's not good for it. Any idea what's
going on with it?
