Default VPN Problems with Vista

When I vpn with my XP machine and try and connect to a network share it works
fine. However when I try and connect with Vista is says it cannot find the
resource. I can ping the name and FQDM but even when I just put in the IP
not UNC I cannot get to the Network Share from the Vista box. I'm just
running the standard Microsoft PPTP on the RAS server. It seems like vista
is timing out while looking for the resource. Any help woul be great

It gives me the same error when I try to connect with the IP. It says cannot
find resource. I've tried everything to try and resolve this issue. I've
added in the DNS suffixes to the VPN connection. It just seems like vista
gives up and doesn't wait long enough. I wonder if there isn't some sort of
reg entry i can tweak.

I have the exact same trouble scenario. All "plain" IP traffic is fine, web
surfing, ping, ftp, etc. What isn't working is any Microsoft stuff like
folder redirect sync, UNC path mapping etc.
Also SIP traffic is not working, my NEC soft IP phone is not able to
establlish connectivity with the VoIP server, so there must be more to it
than just the Microsoft things malfunctioning.
