I have a home computer with Vista Ultimate and a notebook with Vista
Business. I have them on a home network. I would like the my documents folder
on both the home computer and the laptop to stay in sync with each other. How
can I do this? I cannot figure it out. Please help!

Do both computers stay in place?

I'm assuming that the desktop is the main system.

If the notebook is used away from the house, then I would suggest a program
called AJC Directory Synchronizer.

You can also default the my docs subdirectory to one machine.

I f you move either one away from the net though this gets messed up.

You can share the main systems my docs directory and then map it as M: drive
on the other. Then just access and save to that drive.

I do all three ways, but it can get complicated. For simplicity's sake, I
would probably just use AJC Sync. That way both systems have the files and
you basically have a built in backup.

Sorry, forgot to tell you that one of the my docs subdirectories needs to be
shared to the networks so that AJC Sync can see it as a drive. Doesn't have
to be assigned a drive letter, just needs to be availble. I use this to keep
my main machines data drive backed up to another system. Has saved my rear
more than once.

Do you know if VISTA & Outlook 2007 will sync the e-mails on two computers
in a peer-to-peer network of 3 computers that stay in place? Or, do I need
to still purchase some 3rd party syncing software like OsaSync or AJC
Directory Sync?
Also, Vista has Sync Center. Does this sync Office 2007 between two
computers? OsaSync does more than just copy the latest Outlook.pst file from
one computer to the other, but WHY? Is it because one could not copy the
Outlook.pst file if Outlook was always open & running?
And, what if one computer is running Vista and one XP?

Ideally, I would like my Outlook to show the same data (e-mails, calendar,
etc.) on all 3 computers. I do not use more than one computer at a time. In
addition, it would be nice to have My Document folder synced among the 3
computers.

Sync Toy does sound useful, but will it sync an open file like Outlook.pst
while it is being used, ie, when Outlook is open. I have Outlook open and
retrieving mail (on one of the computers) 24/7. It is one thing to copy a
file from one folder on one computer to another computer, but if the file is
in use....????
