No. You said the buttons do not work. But you can also scan if you have
certain programs.
For example certain programs in Microsoft Office will put an entry in one
of the menus to "Scan" or "Import from Scanner" or words like that.
Or a very useeful free utility called IrfanView that enables you to view
all sorts of image formats and edit them puts a menu item under File /
Acquire,Batch scanning ...
Or an HP scanner comes with a utility for scanning.
Your Officejet says to use the driver that is in VISTA and those are often
less featured than for other versions of Windows.
Print out this document on the HP website:
HP Printers - Installing the Printer Driver Located in Windows Vista
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/d...3&lc=en&cc=us&
lang=en&os=2093&product=79477&dlc=en
which has a section on how to scan.
It is almsot easier to buy a new
printer, except frustrating that it worked the day before I got the new
computer with Vista Office.
Alas that is often the case when a new operating system comes out and one
has older hardware.
I'm not sure what you mean by "Vista Office". The VISTA version of Windows
does not come in an Office version although it does come in Business
versions which do have the Fax & Scanmodule that others have referred to.
"Office" is an application that comes on some computers in a trial version
or may be something you purchased.
Can you clarify what you mean by VISTA Office?
