Default Another Vista/XP network problem

Hi folk. I runa a small network at home which consists of 3 xp machines and
an NT server. All talk together quite happily. I have now added a nerw Vista
pc to the network and now my woos begin. I have installed the appropriate
file tot he XP machines to allow them to talk to the Vista machine. Here are
my problems I need help with.
1. None of the XP pcs can see the vista pc.
2. The vista pc can see the xp pcs on the network map BUT they are not
accessible
3. The NT server is a fuuny thing. One moment it can see the Vista pc and
the vista PC can see it - and they can both access each other. Then next time
I boot the vista pc neither one can see each other.

anyone able to offer any advise or had thise problems and found a solution?

what I need to do is transere files from the xp boxes to the vista box but
if they cant see each other or are not availeable to each other it cant be
done.
thanks in advance of any help

Antony,

You can PROBABLY transfer files, if it's just a one time deal, using a static
mapping by ip address "\\IPAddressOfOtherComputer", run from either computer.

But you can fix the problem.

You did set the Vista Network Location Type to Private?

My guess is you're looking at a NetBT / personal firewall setting mismatch
somewhere.

And check the protocol stack on the Vista computer. Does it have IPV6?
