Default Printing fix download Doesn't start

I am getting the error messege, " Microsoft 8 has stopped working," when I
try to print something. The computer then sends me a link to a website that
tells me to download the fix. The link is:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...kInfoContainer

When I click on the link a new window opens, but nothing after that. No
download instructions no nothing. The download file name is: KB933828.msp
Help?!

I think you mean Microsoft Works 8 ....

I have the current version of Works, which is 8.5, working under VISTA.
Is that your version -- check HELP / About

What you can try is when you click on DOWNLOAD on that webpage, don't
select Run but select SAVE and note where it is saved to so you can
find it again. I have a folder for Internet Downloads which you could
create or you could use the Desktop.

After it is downloaded, go to where it is and right mouse click on the
file you downloaded and select Run as Administrator from that context
menu.

If that doesn't work, let us know

If that does work, let us know g

When I click on the link in your post, the page at
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en
opens in IE and there is a download button, which works.

Can you get to the page at http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=933828?
There's a link there to the download page as well.

Try using F5 (Refresh).

What version of Windows do you have? This fix is only for Windows XP with
Service Pack 2 (SP2) or Vista.

It is perfectly useless to know the right answer to the wrong question.

That's the problem. When I click on the download button, a new window opens
but I don't get anything asking me to "RUN" or "SAVE" anything to my
computer. I don't see any pop-up blocker warnings either. I have a brand new
Dell, running Vista Premium.

Also, after I click on the download button, a little window opens up. The
original download screen turns into a screen that says, " thank you for
downloading the printing update, if your download doesn't start click here."
When I click on the download doesn't start link it goes to a screen that
says: Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

Most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
The website is encountering problems.
There might be a typing error in the address.
That's all I get.
HELP?!
