I have 2 new Vista Ultimate 32bit PCs and am having problems sharing music
and videos. 1. They are on a wireless 108mps network using a Netgear DG834GT router. 2. The router has latest firmware. Wirelesss cards have latest drivers. Windows has the latest updates. 3. I have no WIndows firewall running but have Norton Internet Security 2007. 4. In Norton I have setup Trusts on both PCs for the network connections that are visible. 5. Both PCs are in the same workgroup. 6. On both PCs in Network and Sharing centre media sharing is on and all PCs and media types are are allowed. 7. Password Protected sharing is off on both PCs 7. On PC2 I have told it to monitor the music and video folders on my username on on PC1 On PC2 I see PC1 on the network map. I see the PC and the Media player incons in networks. I can open PC1 and see the shares. Problems 1. On PC2 I open Windows Media Player and see PC1 library listed. If I try to access it it says connecting but then nothing happens - never see the files. 2. On PC2 if I try to open shared folders in my username on PC1 says not authorised to do so. I can open public folder with no problem. I am out of ideas. Anybody know what is going wrong? -- Rob |
