Default Vista share problem.

My problem seems to be backward from most other people. My Vista can access
allof my XP/98se machines and they can see My Vista PC, but they are prompted
for a password and "if" they can get past the password, then they only have
access to the shares for about 30 seconds before the get an error about it
not being available.
Network Discovery is on.
File sharing is on.
Public folder sharing is on (read only).
Print share is off.
Password protection is off.
Media sharing is on....but takes 20 min or so to start feeding anything.
All shares have "Everyone" and "User" level access w/ no implicit denials.

Why is it not working?
