Has anyone had the problem on the build 5728 where the selection Start --
left pane -- Games -- opens window with Microsoft default games icons. None of the selections in this window work anymore. Selecting a game returns -- This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in Set Associations control panel. Of course this being a beta test release, there doesn't appear to be any such option as set associations control panel. |

Start Games link on the right, and yes, the games won't work from the
links in the Games explorer. A bug in this build, as it worked previously. Games play fine from the dropdown list in All Programs. -- Jane, not plain 64 bit enabled ![]() Batteries not included. Braincell on vacation :-) "Bob Boyce" Bob wrote in message ... Hey thanks for the reply. Figured that it might be a bug. What would be
interesting to me would be if any of the GUI folks from MS are reading these posts and could suggest how it was caused. But I suppose we will never know. Bob Boyce, did you do a registry tweak or use a 3rd party tweak to remove the shortcut arrow overlays on desktop icons? If you removed the "IsShortcut" key, then that is why your games links no longer work in Game Explorer. -- ahm09 |
