Default vista access denied to xp shared file

This is a big problem of vista!!!
My home network is set as a workgroup and 2 pcs running win xp pro, and one
new laptop running vista home all set the workgroup name as "WORKGROUP",
everything like printer share are all works. File share for win xp pro, all
three pcs can see/ping each other, xp pro can access vista shared files, the
problem is when vista pc access win xp pro shared file always got "access
denied" error, I am sure all the security, user rigth or firewall stuff are
all fixed, but still got the error.
Pls help!

Sam:

If what you say is true and you can see the Vista shares, etc. I'd create
another share on the XP machine on the root of C:. Then, verify Share
permissions are set to Everyone and Security is set to Everyone (you can
raise security later). Finally, make sure every user account is using a
password. If this doesn't work, make sure the user account on the Vista
machine matches the user account on the XP machine.

If this new share works then there is something askew with the permissions.
I find folks like to create shares on their desktop only to discover that
the desktop is restricted to just their user account and therefore doesn't
always "share" well.

Thanks Jason.
I did check all the user right and set to everyone, not only one pc or one
folder another pc/folder also with different users as well, the error "access
denied" is just still there. The thing is when i use a xp pro/home pc to
access those shared file I found no problem, so I assume all the septs or
access right's settings are all correct.

I have just the opposite problem. Ican use all drives on the Laptop (XP
PRO), but from
the Laptop I can use only the Public folder and the printer on the Desktop
( Vista Ultimate) but can not access the the c and d drives. I am quite sure
all the sharing is set properly????

Any ideas???

Ted
