You get the same on x86 version , this is why my bf2 game run slower
"walk2k" wrote in message ... The x64 drivers (96.33) DO NOT WORK with RC2. You will lose all hardware acceleration. Videos will not play, 3d games don't work, and Vista even reverts to non-Aero windows (non transparent, no Flip-3d etc). x64 users will have to wait for updated RC2 drivers (I did not test x86/32bit). |

if u use the MS native 1's does it run better ???
"lvlman.1998" wrote in message ... EA Sports simracing still installs, but will not play 3dsetup cube stops working when you try to play. I guess EA SPORTS is going to wait until WINDOWS VISTA IS FINAL was a shame they have a contact with NASCAR FOR BEING THE ONLY ONE TO DEVELOP A SIM FOR NASCAR RACING. SIERRA\PAPYRUS CAN'T DEVELOP A NEW ONE FOR VISTA. But so far thier nascar racing 2003 is working just fine "EdricFilho" wrote: My GeForce 7800 GT worked perfectly with IL2 Forgotten Battles using Forceware 96.33 under Vista RC1, but RC2 shows problems with that driver on games. Normal GUI graphics are OK, though. Edric |

This is strange, When I installed 96.33, The aero theme was working fine, I
just noticed it did not so re installed the microsoft supplied one and now have aero again. Very weird. "David Griffin" wrote in message ... I will have to check my games, Aero works perfectly for me with the 96.33 drivers. "walk2k" wrote in message ... The x64 drivers (96.33) DO NOT WORK with RC2. You will lose all hardware acceleration. Nvidia have patently stated that they know their drivers only allow basic
funcitionality and have no intention of doing anything about it until a month or two after the full public release of Vista. That is to say, they don't give a damn until you have to pay for Vista and then they'll look into drivers and software that will once again allow you to use the full spectrum of your Nvidia card as you could in XP. ATI, on the other hand, are working hand in hand with MS and are releasing improvements almost daily. So out with Nvidia and back to my ATI. I hate companies that boast about policy, that focuses on the consumer, and their satisfaction, only to display arrogance, and ignore those who have spent their hard earned money on a high end Nividia graphics card. Nvidia is way behind the curve on this one and are getting very bad publicity because of it. I for one have voiced my opinion about Nvidia's lack of caring on several Vista sites. If you have any questions about nVidia and their Stance on Vista...just go
to their "Windows News Page" http://www.nvidia.com/page/technolog...community.html They have an "Ask nVidia a question" feature and say they will answer a question a week. The problem is they stil have the 4 softball questions that were up there before the Beta2 CPP launch. If you think there are not more questions due to lack of interest..I have asked several questions, and never receieved a responce, not seen the any new questions answered. Well they responded to me and you can see their response in my previous post.
I had an ATI and switched to Nvidia and now I guess it's time to switch back. Such a shame they don't think customers are all that important. But then who buys their stuff? Not me anymore. As for graphics and games, ya the basics seem to work fine but I like tuning my graphics and Nvidia in Vista can't be tuned at all. Heck you even have to "Force" second display recognition and then that messes things up big time. You have to constantly go back into the control panel and set up the primary display default option. Oh well, money is king and when Nividia gets a black eye and a hit in the pocket book then they'll sing a different tune. For now ATI has been working hand in hand with the Vista people(so I've read) and so I think I'll swing some hard earned bucks their way. As a software developer, I can see their point as evidenced by the fact that compatibility changes with every release. At least they (NVidia) provide beta drivers, but it is very difficult to support an operating system that the maker does not even support yet. I think that getting upset about the fact that NVidia does not have drivers released for an OS which was released last week (in beta) is ridiculous. I certainly cannot guarantee that my software works under the release of Vista because it (the release version of Vista) doesn't exist yet. -- -Michael Gillen Hollister, CA UTC/GMT -7 |
