Battlefield 2142 and Vista RC2
Has anyone got it going yet?
I tried to play it online but I kept getting a punkbuster kick, something that doesn't happen in any other games i've tried, and something I am yet to find any good information on. So is it Vista or another problem?

I had the same thing. Vista is denying Punkbuster access to the filesystem.
Right click the game shortcut and choose 'Run as Administrator' then you'll be fine. I've been running BF 2142 A LOT in Vista RC2 for the last couple days without issue. Enjoy. Battlefield 2142 and Vista RC2
I'm in desperate need of an idea. I have bf 2142 I can run it in xp and as admin but I never get upgrades for weapons or ranks playing single or online. Has anyone had this prob and know how to fix it? -- kev0001000

My first thought was the program was being blocked by your firewall (Vista
or whatever virus checker you have), though you can play online so perhaps that is not the problem. its possible the upgrades/ranks are handled by a separate background utility. Check your firewall for any apps its denying. If you use the built-in Vista one, go to control panel - Windows Firewall, click "Change Settings", look through the "Exceptions" list and see if you see anything that looks like it belongs to bf, it should have a checkbox (which means its allowed to talk through the firewall).
