Default Media Sever has disopeared

i have been using media server on my PS3 for some time now with no problems
until today when i uprgaded both my proccesor and my ps3 OS and now my ps3
can not seem to find media server. does anybody now if i have to open any
ports on my router and what setting i should be using in all parts of the set
up, it may be my ps3 i just need info to rule out my pc as the fault
