Windows Vista Ultimate AMD Athlon 64X2 6000+ 2gbRam 800 nVidia GeForce 8800GTX A .MSI file is bascially a Microsoft Installer file, browse the Halo 2 DVD in the Redist folder, see if you can find the vcredist.msi file, right click on it and run as admin. Try installing again. |

Alright, I've tried going to the root of the problem here. The redists/vcredist.msi file claims to need the Windows Visual c++ Distributable Disk to continue. I previously had no knowledge of such a disk, and I know for sure I don't have said disk. I've tried running the setup as an admin, and I can't find the "run as admin" when I right click this file. I just got this game yesterday, and so far I've installed the Vista service pack 2 and I've done everything I could possibly think of. Now I'm stuck. -- Joeman |

You may need to uninstall the Halo 2, if it is listed You might need to get the Windows Installer Cleaner so as to delist the Halo 2 / C ++ entries. |

Alright, I've gone through all the important updates and I've downloaded the cleaner. I'm still getting the same exact message. User cancelled installation might be the key words here. -- Joeman |
