Default Computer Reboots after installing a CD/DVD

After installing Vista I have not been able to utilize my CD/DVD player
installed in the computer. Upon installing a CD the computer flashes a blue
screen and begins to restart the system. After restarting they computer
continually goes through the same process of restarting itself.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Default Computer Reboots after installing a CD/DVD

aaron1,

The following link MAY provide a solution. Follow the instructions on the
following Microsoft article to remove upper and lower filters:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/929461

Sometimes this solution works, but who knows until you try it. some burner
programs, such as Nero and/or iTunes/iPod have been known to cause the
problem you're having. Note in the Microsoft article that you may need to
reinstall a burner program, if that's what's causing the problem. Post back
on the results.

To perform the above procedure, the computer cannot be rebooting. If it's
continuously rebooting, try booting using Safe Mode. Press F8 after POST but
before Windows starts and select Safe Mode.
