I try to share only ONE folder (downloads, a blue folder) but all blue
folders are visible on network. Only the intended folder (downloads) has the "share" icon on it, and is the only folder showing up in the search, "shared by me". I've double and tripled checked that the parent folder, "username" under "Users" is NOT shared. but the contents of all the blue folders is visible from other pc's. also, a yellow folder under "username" is also visible, although not intended to be shared either. grrr!!!!! Thanks, Robert. After running "net share" and viewing the results I quickly learned the syntax to remove the shares via the command prompt. No way was i able to do it in the GUI. In fact, the last few times I tried, Vista responded by hanging. Dave |
