Also unable to install HP C6180 All in one

The reason I*ask is that upgrades are very tricky to say the least. This is certainly the perceived wisdom for earlier versions of Windows than VISTA but my understanding is that when VISTA does an upgrade installation it actually does a clean installation and then transfers applications and data into that clean installation. If this is correct then it would explain why you can do a clean install using an upgrade version of VISTA. FWIW |

And yes, you can do a clean install using an upgrade version of Vista, but that is not what I was referring to. Wayne |

Rudolph, what is the size of the download? If it is less than 40MBytes then
you downloaded the wrong one. Your download is over 150MBytes. http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/s... 53494&lang=en Wayne |

It was abundantly true for upgrading to XP but I've not seen reports of similar problems with VISTA over XP. ... but that is not what I was referring to. I know but I was referring to it as supporting that an upgrade installation could well be a clean installation which is then "loaded". |

That company ripped people off with 6.00 and up an hour access on slowpoke dialup. LOL However, I was a beta tester for Vista from the start, and found 96 bugs. I have been working with computers since 1983, have an IQ of 162, and I am white and good looking. :0) Wayne |

Thanks for all of the replies. I reinstalled Vista and now it works.
"Rudolph" wrote: I am also having problems with the install. I get to step 3 about 50% of the way through and it has a fatal error. When I select the detail of the error I get: "hpzwrp01.exe -m dpinstxml_vista -l XXX -f X:\hpoins18.dat - Validate No dat - Validate No = Application did not return ERROR_SUCCESS Any thoughts? I have spent about 4 hrs with HP for them to tell me it is vista. I have tried from both the CD and the on site download. I have tried many things. It is amazing because it work great on an XP system I have at home. By the way I am trying through a network. The printer is installed by wire to the router. Thanks Rudolph |

CompuServe? *Didn't they go out of business years ago? * No but they are now web-based (run on Prospero) and free to access if you have your own ISP. That company ripped*people off with 6.00 and up an hour access on slowpoke dialup. That was the disastrous CS2000 which is not the Compuserve I'm talking about. Compuserve access is free now. and found 96 bugs.* So few? |
