Default Desktop and Network Changing Unexpectedly

I have a program that is called Simple Index. It works well, but the
activation is based on the network. Well i have someone that uses it all the
time and all of a sudden it stops. Tells you that it is no longer activated
and I have to unistall and reinstall again. Also the system that I am
sending this email from, the desktop just changed. I lost my My Network
Places and IE icons (and others). My side bar just disappers and reappers at
will. Any answers to these questions Microsoft?
