Ever since I installed Vista Home Edition Premium, I have found this adapter
in the Devise Manager under Network adapters. It shows that it was manufactured by Microsoft. The problem is it does not work because there is no driver for it. Can anyone tell me where I can get the driver for Network Adapter 6TO4???? And secondly, what in the world is this adapter for??? Thirdly, can I just delete this adapter with no adverse consequences to my Windows Vista???? Thank you for your time! |

I have the same issue, with "Code 31 - Cannot load driver" being listed in
the Device Status window. A google search pointed me towards several tech support forums where other people are also reporting the problem. On one of the forums (can't remember which one), someone provided a link to the following microsoft knowledgebase article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/932520/en-us It doesn't specifically mention the 6TO4 adapter, but it apparently applies. As for what the 6TO4 adapter is, I haven't quite figured it out. Knowing that it is a "Tunneling Address Protocol used to help enterprises transition to an IPv6 infrastructure" doesn't mean anything to my only mildly computer saavy self. Hi
I too am having problems with this. Details: In Device Manager there is a yellow triangle against nearly all (20) items in Network Adapters. For Microsoft 6to4 adapter says driver is up to date, but also shows error code 31. NOTE message reads "This device is not working properly because windows cannot load the drivers required for this device". Same message for all other items. Have checked for solutions - but none available. How do we get help please???? -- Martin "Carch" wrote: Ever since I installed Vista Home Edition Premium, I have found this adapter in the Devise Manager under Network adapters. I had this problem too. But reading the link provided darkwunder, looks like it's only used for Ipv6 (Internet Protocol Version 6) So it really shouldn't matter anyways as current infrastructure only uses version 4? You probably shouldn't delete this adapter but disabling it can't really do any permanent damage. Hope this helps -- Hyperion Posted via http://www.vistaheads.com |

Having an issue with 6TO4 on my Vista Home Premium laptop. Have tried all
updates from Toshiba and none have fixed as of yet. Last one left to try is the MS service pack. Will see if this will do it. |
