Unable to access two new hard drives
I have Windows Vista Ultimate 64 installed on a WD Raptor 150gb drive
currently and I just installed two new SATA 500GB Samsung HDs into my machine and I am unable to even access them. They don't show up on my computer yet they are both listed in device manager as working properly. Any idea on why I can't access the hard drives at all? They seem to be installed and working. I've even disconnected them and reconnected after a reboot and still the same symptoms occur. |

Unable to access two new hard drives
Did you go to Control Panel Administrative Tools Computer Management,
highlight Disk Management and initialize, partition, format and assign drive letters? -- I Bleed Blue and Gold GO BEARS! Have you partitioned and formatted the drives using disk management?

That was it. Thank you Cal Bear and David B.
I was looking around for a way to format them etc. But just never knew the direct path to do it. Still getting used to Vista's interface so its harder to find things.
