It is upto Silicon Image to provide the required driver to Microsoft so I
suggest that you contact them with your concern. hi dimitri
i have the 3512 controller and the XP/2003 driver from the SI web site worked for me. some people have reported using the 64 bit driver even if they have a 32 bit system, this didn't work for me and i don't recommend using it. others swear by using the 'base' driver even if you have an SATA Raid controller, for which there is a different driver. i used the one that matched my on-board controller and it worked fine. although the driver was accepted by Vista Setup whether i ran set up from within XP or booted straight from the DVD, the only stable method was to boot from the DVD and use the Load Driver option when choosing the partition. i would suggest you lobby the board manufacturers, because they are the ones who are meant to support your product even though they may claim not to be responsible for the hardware. SI don't support their hardware if it is sold on another product, this is written on their main support page. your mobo manufacturer will carry a lot of influence with Silicon Image, compared to a customer like yourself who never actually bought a Silicon product. hope this helps tim "JW" wrote in message ... I saw this post and hope you discovered by now that SI released drivers for
Vista. For anyone doing a search on this issue, the link currently is http://www.siliconimage.com/support/...d=2&osid =10& -- Brad "dimitris_greece" wrote: hi i have the motherboard k8n diamond plus and i have raid 0 my question is will windows vista support the sil 3132 controller ? because it's a new operating system and to my opinion it's a mistake not support chipsets that are already in the market and as a user i must run to find a driver and to compromise no to have raid 0 it's in the rc1 version and i am worried about it WHY MICROSOFT WHY ??? |
