Connect Microtek Scanmaker 4800 to PC w/Windows Vista
I have a Microtek Scanmaker 4800, Type MRS-1200
T48U. I believe this unit is designed to function w/o the use of a driver and it connects to the PC via Microteck Wizard 5 v5.79 software.? I now have a new PC and am trying to get it working. This software is installed in my both my old and new PC (I have the disk). With my old PC a Microteck Scanner icon would light up and direct me to scan my hardware to connect the PC up to the scanner. When accomplished the icon indicated the scanner was available and I could then give directions and operate the scanner. With my new computer the icon comes on but scanning my hardware will not hook the PC to the scanner???? Questions: Is it true I don't need a driver for the Microteck Scanmaker 4800? I have searched all over trying to find a driver for the Scanmaker 4800. All that is indicated to be available is the Scanmaker software wizard. When I try to download this it indicates a couple files are in use and terminates the download. This makes sense if the necessay software to allow it to function is already installed? |

Connect Microtek Scanmaker 4800 to PC w/Windows Vista
You will need a driver. The Windows XP driver might work but Microtek do not
appear to have any Vista drivers. Neither VueScan nor Silverfast supports the Scanmaker 4800, so if the XP driver does not work you will need a new scanner. "ahho" wrote in message ...
