I successfully upgraded to Windows Vista 5600 RC1 and all of the built in
hardware is working correctly and the drivers are found for every device. The upgrade advisor did flag my Dell AIO 962 3-in-1 printer/scanner was not compatible, and I thought what the hell, and installed anyway. After installation finished Windows Update displayed an updated device driver for the printer. Anyway, whatever I try to do it says installation failed. I have tried following the instructions for failed installations/updates and followed them, but still I get an error. I thought it might be something to do with .NET 1.1 (Dont know why!) so I installed that (with the update service pack), still no-dice. Windows Update continues to advertise the device driver, but whatever I do it wont work... I have actually tried installing the driver manually from the .inf file that downloaded, but nothing happens? Anyone have any ideas? PS: I uninstalled the old Dell driver before updating to Vista... Thanks for any ideas or help. |

I'm with you... it would really be nice to have a beta driver or some way of
making it work. "MCR" wrote: I successfully upgraded to Windows Vista 5600 RC1 and all of the built in hardware is working correctly and the drivers are found for every device. Sure would be nice if Dell released some AIO drivers soon.
