Default Help ASUS A7N8X Deluxe Hangs in windows explorer

When I open windows explorer on any of the local or network drives My cpu
usage spikes to 100% and will not go back down until I minimumize or close
window explorer. My Daughters Computer is a about 2/3 the computer of mine
when it comes to CPU Memory and video card. This proble is not present on her
system at all. I am thinking a drive perhaps but I can browse with ACDSEE and
it is lightning fast. It only does this with WINDOWS EXPLORER. Where to
start???

INTERESTING... If I go through computer management and select explore from
there it works fine but using the Windows Explorer shortcut from the start
menu has a problem... Also if I browse to C:\\WINDOWS\ and click explorer.exe
it works fine. So now I created a new shortcut for explore.exe on my desktop
and the problem was back with the new shortcut.

Alright now I am feeling like a pest but... On the Left hand side you have
the 2 panes... Top is Favorites and the Bottom is the traditional folder
browser pane Like in XP. This is resizable and if you resize to more than 50%
of the height the CPU usage goes right up to 100% and will stay there until
you shrink it back down. Resizing the width makes no difference at all. This
is the same no matter how you get to explore.exe.

Default Help ASUS A7N8X Deluxe Hangs in windows explorer

CORRECTION!!! It only happens whem my E drive is displayed in the folders
pane... Also there is no Icon for it in the folders pane. Just the drive
name. The drive is full 2.29 GB free and window shows no errors on the dirve
and it does not need defragged. It is however a shared drive named MUSIC. So
the FIX IS HERE!!!!! Do not share the drive and the problem goes away...
Creat a folder on the Music Drive Named Music and share the folder intead of
the whole drive... PROBLEM SOLVED...

Icon also came back when sharing drive was disabled.
