WMP 11 Vista Library not working
I have the library is empty can not add or search or find songs on computer.
Tried goring to media center and use MC library function and it says a component is missing. Can not create play list. WMP works 1 file at a time. Can't burn DRM protected content evan thought I have DRM rights. Any ideas on repair of Media center or WMP? |

WMP 11 Vista Library not working
I am having a similar issue, runing Vista Ultimate SP1, Med Cent cannot
access the music library, "necessary component is missing" library function works fine in WMP11, tried the above fix. Was no change. I am getting the "component missing" msg whenever i use MC and go to Music library or going to the library setup option. Only after SP1 install. WMP 11 Vista Library not working
Yes it did work last time mate, cheers.
I am a little unsure about this fix, following the instructions he http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/925718 but am unable to delete the CurrentDatabase_360 file as it open somewhere else, is this because it is shared with the other user on my system? Am I going about this the right way? P.S. Tried installing this update http://support.microsoft.com/kb/941651/en-us but it is apparently not required for my system. WMP 11 Vista Library not working
You would need to shut down Media Center, the Network Sharing Service, and disconnect any attached devices that might be trying to sync to the player in order to rename the library. -- Speaking for myself only. WMP 11 Vista Library not working
I have been having similar problems since I moved from XP to Vista Ultimate
very recently. My music collection is on an external USB-connected drive (J and was previously indexed just fine with WMP11 on the XP machine. I plugged the drive into the new Vista box and put the drive / path in the "Add to library" dialogue but it could only find about 30 of my albums - the other 200+ are missing. I've followed and actioned all the suggestions around deleting the CurrentDatabase_360 (took me a while to find out how to stop the network sharing service so I could delete it but I found it in the end through Task Manager) but everytime, it just finds the same album folders each time. Checking their properties, I cannot see any difference between a folder / file that is indexed and one that isn't (securities, permissions, etc.). Also, if I open a track in WMP11 from one of the 'missing' albums to play it, it adds the track to the library. Weird! Even weirder, if I add a direct path to one of the missing album folders and "Add to library" again, it still can't find the album. Any idea? This is driving me nuts! That sound like it's fallen into the bucket of deleted albums - if you drag and drop that external folder of music onto the player's library, does it then show up properly? -- Speaking for myself only. WMP 11 Vista Library not working
I didn't know you could do that. (I presume you mean open Windows Explorer
and simply drag the music folder onto Media Player.) In any case, I gave up and copied all the music folders & files from my J: drive to my C: drive, ran "Add to library" and presto, WMP11 found them again. I'll just live with it as it is. Now, if you can, zachd, can you please get MS to update Mobile Device or Sync Manager to allow me to sync music to my Windows Mobile 6 Treo with Bluetooth? :-) Thanks!
