It doesn't help me, since my Intellitype/IntelliPoint 5.5 installs no
such "oemsetup.inf" anywhere on my system.

Of course, my software was already installed in Vista.

If you download Intellipoint 5.5 and begin the install by
double-clicking the file it will be decompressed to an Microsoft
Intellipoint 5.5 directory (folder).

Using Windows Explorer (your file manager), look for it under
COMPUTER|LOCAL DISK (C)|PROGRAM FILES.

Open that directory and you will see the OEMSetup.exe file listed. Copy
the .ini file from the above site to that directory. Then drag it over
the OEMSetup.exe file, using the left mouse button. Let the button go.

The install may take a few minutes.

As I found this morning, this is not necessary: simply start the
installation using "??setup.exe", rather than "setup.exe" ( I can't
remember the first two characters). But there are only two files
ending in "setup.exe".

If you do that, making sure to set XP compatibility for that file, the
setup will run normally, and all special keys (and the keyboard/mouse
console) will be available.

As an example, I defined "My Favorites-1" to launch Forte Agent, and
launched the instance I am currently using by pressing the key.
