With a Fresh Boot Vista Will Not See Network Shares.

what i mean by this is sometimes when i boot vista it will see the network
but it will not see the other computers or printers on the network.

this is a problem carried over from windows xp it does not happen with every
boot maybe every other boot it happens more than it did in xp though.

the windows network diagnostic tools are useless with this kind of issue
because windows see the network and the internet so it says nothing is wrong.


has anyone got any idea of a way to fix this issue it's not only my network
it is happening of a few others that i know of to so if i could get some help
with this i would be very thankful.

and on a side note. for the Linux trolls no i don't want Linux it has it's
own issues so that is not a fix for me'

The only thing I can think of is the time it might take your router to renew
the IP address and for that data to filter to other computers. Vista is just
awfully slow in networking. If networking is important maybe put your
computer to sleep rather than turn it off. For a 2007 OS, Vista is still in
the stone ages in certain repeccts.

That probably doesn't work - the XP on our network simply disappears off the
network every time it 'sleeps' or even starts up the screen saver, let alone
when you reboot. Sometimes it seems to disappear for no reason whatsoever.

ANY change to anything seems to upset the delicate balance of a Vista
network. An update comes in, things disappear off the network. Reboot one of
the computers, ditto. Open the wrong program at the wrong time, same result.
Look at it sideways and it has a tantrum and won't work.

Vista networking is simply crap and MS don't give a @#$^ about producing
quality products for their customers.
