Default M-Audio revolution 7.1 works (for a while)

Maybe someone smarter than me can tell me what the heck is up with vista and
HD audio. Like the title says, I have an M-Audio Revolution 7.1 HD sound
card. This same problem has happened with Beta 2, pre RC-1 and now with RC-1.

When I first upgrade Vista, then install the M-audio (XP) drivers, my sound
card works great. I can even do a restart and it still works, but as soon as
I power down my PC then bring it up, I get the famous BSOD referencing the
revo.sys (M-audio) driver. The only way to get rid of the screen is to
remove the driver.

This is obviously a MS problem as the driver DOES work, but only initially.

Anyone have the same issue or maybe even a fix?

Thanks

I'm having the same type of problem. The sound at boot splash screen is great
but when the desktop comes on it is in a slow scratchy mode. I have installed
every intel & ms update with no affect. At least it is consistant. If I turn
something up I'll let you know but for now there is no response. Intel is
working on it. I think MS is stymied as it seems to be a feature of vista to
play the nice sound so you can tell when your sound install is bad.
