I'd be interested to find out if anyone here can reproduce a strange
explanation for slow lan performance that I haven't seen mentioned here Full explanation is here http://forums.2cpu.com/showthread.php?t=83112 In brief, people are noticing that vista seems to cap the lan speed while playing audio or video

Looks like it's been narrowed down to audio playback
Stripping the soundtrack out of a movie and playing it doesn't cause the huge speed decrease I wonder how many people who also complain about vistas lan speed have had some audio software running at the same time
