Default MS wireless laser 6000 mouse

Have tried the above mouse on RC1, it does work fine on native drivers
though you cant install Intellipoint so it does not have full functionality!
However it does seem to prevent the screensaver from working which is a bit
annoying as the pc is on 24/7. Has anyone come across this problem? Any
fixes?
Thanks
Alan

At first I disabled 'allow this device to wake the computer' and there was
no difference. Still can not get Vista to activate the screen saver or
enter sleep mode. So I'm not sure if it is my 6000 mouse or not.

As soon as I went back to a corded mouse, the screensaver and sleep mode
worked fine. Seems to be somthing to do with the 6000 mouse.

Hi Alan,

here is an explanation for the reason - but no solution - until now, sorry.

I have the same problem with my system even before upgrading it to Vista. As
mentioned in the blog post you linked to, the problem was caused by a
conflict between this hardware and ehtray.exe. So when I used the task
manager to end the ehtray.exe process, the screensaver worked fine. However,
with Vista this workaround no longer works.

It's frustrating to learn that Microsoft doesn't plan to provide a fix,
especially since they are both Microsoft branded products. I purchased them
only a short while before upgrading to Vista.
