ok this is like 2 other questions already but to sum it up can you tell me
how to get my microphone to record i re-installed it but it doesn't pick up any sound can you help me with this step-by-step for my vista -- t-ed off about this |

Of course, check that your microphone is connected to the right jack, usually
it's the red one with the microphone icon. Check if the microphone volume is set high enough. Open "Recording devices" in the control panel, or right click on the speaker icon in the notification area and click on Recording devices. Select Microphone and click Properties. On the Levels page, set the slider to 100. If that still isn't loud enough, sometimes there is a Mic boost option on the Custom page. Also, make sure the microphone is set as the default device.
