Since you are replying to the ONLY post in a thread that began on
November 1, 2007 - over SEVEN months ago - that's a safe bet.

but I had a similar
problem with a new drive I had formatted in XP and now put into an
external enclosure and tried to use it in Vista. I got Vista to
recognize the partition and data that was on it by:

Go into computer management and right click on the disk you want Vista
to recognize.

Click the "Mark Partition as Active" choice from the menu.

Then just set the drive letter and path from the same right click menu.

This should set your drive as active and vista should be able to read
it now and see it as an NTFS formatted drive.
